Mercedes Sosa (1935-2009)

Today a great artist passed away. Mercedes Sosa who was from Argentina sang the song Solo le pido a Dios. she was well known and respected for her songs that could move the masses. We came across a live version of the song introduced to us by lenny. We were inspired by the sound of the recording which was taken from one of her concerts where thousands of people were singing along. When we did the production we tried to keep that folk live vibe and even added some of the parts where she would adress the audience during the performance like "Todos juntos por favor". We thought that the original version in spanish was so powerful so we decided to keep a spanish part at the end of the song. A regret will be that we did not get the honor to share the stage with her. May she rest in peace Outlandish

I like the part where you say you are doing this to give back but I would assume by all the comments that this is working for you as well.

Rest in peace, Mercedes Sosa

She gave the people a voice and was one of the first artists to sing "trova" genre. Argentina and Latinamerica lost a great woman and a great performer.

To the moros reading this she also sings one song at "beat, rhymes and life" called La Maza

PS: I also knew "solo le pido a Dios" through her and loved it since the first time Wink
